Yakuba Brown
Founder & Chair
Yakuba G. Brown, widely known as KB is a visionary nonprofit and business leader, author, and community advocate with over two decades of experience empowering at-risk and at-promise youth and their families. He is the Founder and CEO of The FFOC (FIATM Family of Companies) and the Founder and Chair of The F I A T M Group Inc. (Family Is All That Matters), a nonprofit organization rooted in mentorship, education, and economic opportunity.
Recognized as a Certificated Credible Messenger and a State Licensed Peer Support Specialist, Yakuba blends lived experience with professional expertise to foster trust, transformation, and resilience across communities. His leadership is hands-on and heart-driven, whether he's mentoring youth, coaching athletics, speaking at schools and faith-based forums, or designing trauma-informed programs that unify families.
Under his guidance, FIATM has launched initiatives such as Life Skills Training, Student Athlete Awareness, and the Next Level Athletic Alliance, all aimed at cultivating discipline, self-worth, and long-term success. Yakuba’s entrepreneurial acumen has also fueled the development of sustainable business models that complement his nonprofit mission, creating employment pathways and wraparound support for underserved populations.
In 2025, Yakuba expanded his impact as a published author with his debut book, Who In The Hell Do You Think You Are ... a powerful reflection on identity, purpose, and personal growth. The book is currently in publishing and marks a new chapter in his lifelong commitment to edification and empowerment.
Yakuba resides in Southern California, where he continues to serve as a mentor, husband, father, and servant leader. His personal philosophy “At my absolute best… I am a servant” is the cornerstone of his work and legacy.
